Company History

Kitson Landscape Management, Inc. was founded by husband and wife team Brent and Sally Kitson in 1969. Kitson Landscape Management, Inc. began as Kitson Nursery, a small landscape maintenance service and avocado nursery created by Brent and Sally to pay their way through UC Santa Barbara.

The landscape maintenance business has grown steadily through the years. Starting out of a single van in 1969 with one employee, Kitson Landscape Management, Inc. has grown to the current operation of 47 trucks, 18 trailers equipped with solar power generation and state of the art clean technology tools, including battery-powered riding mowers, and more than 100 employees operating from 1.25 acre headquarters in Goleta, California. Although we remain committed to our original core values, many aspects of the business have evolved, including the original company name which was altered in 2000 to better reflect the focus of the business.

Kitson Landscape Management, Inc. has flourished while remaining in the Kitson family. Sarah Kitson (Brent and Sally's eldest daughter) is the president while her husband, Dave Fudurich, is the CFO. Founders Brent and Sally Kitson remain involved as mentors.

Sarah and Dave both grew up in Goleta and attended Dos Pueblos High School before choosing to earn their horticulture degrees at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. They completed their studies at Cal Poly graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Kitson Landscape Management, Inc. currently maintains more than 250 major commercial landscape maintenance contracts in Santa Barbara County, where many of our client relationships have lasted for over 25 years.
