MANAGEMENT With over two decades in the landscape industry, Director of Operations Mike Waggoner came to Kitson Landscape Management with a degree in Business Administration from Sonoma State. Mike coordinates crew schedules, acts as an Account Manager, is a Certified Water Manager, and most importantly ensures client expectations and Kitson standards are met on a daily basis. Mike enjoys spending time with his friends and family and tending the garden in his yard on the weekends. Mike is backed by Account Managers Victor Lopez, Marcela Mallo, Richard Mason, Heather Federlein, Nicolas Morales, and Bryce Kunzel. Victor received a degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Environmental Horticultural Science, is a Certified Water Manager, and is studying for his Arborist License. Victor grew up in Goleta and enjoys spending time with his family. Marcela was born in Argentina and earned a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the National University of Cordoba. Upon moving to the United States she received a Certification in Gardening and Horticulture from UCLA, and more recently became a Certified Water Manager. She has over a decade of experience in the industry in which she has focused on design, installation, and project management. Marcela loves plants and feels privileged to work with them on a daily basis. Richard received his Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Natural Resources Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He has also worked over a decade in the industry, evaluating plant health and creating and implementing long term preventative care and maintenance programs in Santa Barbara County. He is a Board Certified Master Arborist, is a member of the Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and has a California State Applicator's License. Richard enjoys gardening and spending time with his family and is a member of the local Begonia Society. Heather has worked in the nursery and landscaping industry for over 25 years. She is a transplant from Upstate New York, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Plant Science, Ornamental Horticulture at Cornell University. She has been trained in restoration, native and drought tolerant landscaping, and ocean friendly gardens. In addition to volunteering her expertise at the Santa Ynez Valley Botanic Garden, Heather also enjoys rock-hounding, making jewelry, and exploring the outdoors with her daughter. Her passion is to bring a bit of California into every landscape. Nicolas, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, shines in using his knowledge and experience to help others learn and grow. In his spare time Nicolas enjoys spending time with his two adorable dogs, Zuri and Mailo. Bryce was raised in Santa Barbara before moving to Northern California to earn his degree in Botany from Humboldt State University. His passion for plants started in high school when he held a job at a local retail nursery and he has continued to work in the plant industry ever since. Bryce's botany and horticultural experience over the last 15 years ranges from performing plant surveys in the National Parks to hand pollinating orchids for tissue culture. After moving back to Santa Barbara he is looking forward to spending time at the beach, as well as camping, hiking and biking. |
FIELD STAFF
Our field crews and managers are supported by a highly efficient and responsive office staff. Our contracts and billing team is led by Lori Lui, who has over 25 years experience in the landscape industry. When Lori is not heading up our account receivables department she enjoys camping with her family, traveling, and (of course) gardening. Human Resource Manager and Purchasing Agent Lindsay Lucera has discovered a world of environmental interactions. Starting with her education at Santa Barbara City College, during an agricultural internship in Alaska, and while earning her Environmental and Sustainability Studies degree in Flagstaff, AZ, she has grown to understand how important our surroundings are. Lindsay enjoys her dual position, combining her love of both people and plants. Accountant Charlotte Tatjes, a Swedish native, came to Santa Barbara in 1992 and loves her adopted hometown of Goleta. With her husband and two daughters she treasures time in the outdoors, especially hiking and biking. Charlotte is well-versed in accounts payable, payroll and other bookkeeping aspects that help us stay organized here at Kitson.
